Another annual tradition took place the first weekend in April as the Quad City Knights 10U Black traveled to the Omaha, Nebraska/Council Bluffs, Iowa area to play in the Battle of the Borders; a weekend long competition where the top Iowa teams go head to head with the top Nebraska teams.
It was a fun weekend with Iowa coming out on top!
Game 1: QCA Knights 10U Black vs. Storm Chasers Blue

On Saturday, The Knights battled the Storm Chasers in game one.
Brooks V. was clutch at the plate with runners on bae, driving in four on three hits to lead the QCA Knights 10U Black past the Storm Chasers 11-3. Brookes drove in runs on a triple in the second, a double in the third, and a double in the fifth.
The Knights secured the victory thanks to six runs in the second inning. The offensive onslaught came from triples by Brooks and Cole E, a single by Trey W., and a double by Kellan C.
Cole led things off on the mound for the Knights, surrendering two runs on a three hits over three innings, striking out four, and walking one.
Canten E. hit the one and only home run this game, with a deep hit in the fourth inning.
The team had a total of 12 hits during this game. Brooks and Kellan each managed multiple hits and Brooks led the Knights with three hits in three at bats.
Game 2: QCA Knights 10U Black vs. Millard United Gold

Cooper F. was brilliant on the pitcher’s mound on Saturday, throwing a no-hitter to lead the Knights past Millard United Gold 11-0.
The team secured their victory thanks to nine runs in the third inning. Big bats were led by Cooper, Kobe B., Bryce B., Brooks V., Trey W., and Ben C., all knocking in runs in the inning.
The Knights got on the board in the first inning when Kobe singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

Game 3: QCA Knights 10U Black vs. Millard United Battle Blue

The QCA Knights defeated Millard United Battle Blue 13-3 in their first game on Sunday, third game overall for the weekend, thanks to eight runs in the fourth inning. The offense in the inning came from singles by Ben C., Canten E., Kellan C., and Liam C., a groundout by Cooper F., and an error on a ball put in play by Bryce B.
The team fired up the offense in the first inning, when Cooper singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.
The team scored eight runs in the fourth inning, when Ben, Canten, Kellan, Liam, Cooper, and Bryce each had RBIs in the big inning.
Brooks V. got the start for the Knights on the mound, with four innings, allowing six hits and three runs while striking out three and walking zero.
The Knights tallied a total of 14 hits. Ben, Cooper, Liam, and Kobe all managed multiple hits for the Knights. Kobe, Liam, Cooper, and Ben each managed two hits to lead the Knights. No errors were committed on the field, and Liam had the most changes in the field with six. The Knights tore up the base paths, as three players stole at least two bases, and Ben led the way with three.
Game 4: QCA Knights 10U Black vs. Omaha Tigers

Bryce B drove in five on three hits to lead the Knights pat the Tigers 26-8 on their final game on Sunday. Bryce drove in runs on a single in the first, a single in the fourth, and a double in the fourth.
The Knights took the lead for good with ten runs in the third inning, when Liam singled on a 1-1 count scoring one run, Cooper singled on a 1-0 count scoring one run, Kobe singled on a 1-1 count scoring one run, Brookes singled on the first pitch of the at bat scoring one run, Henry drew a walk scoring one run, and error scored one run, Ben doubled on the first pitch of the at bat scoring two runs, and error scored one run, and Kellan grounded out, scoring one run.
The Knights put up 13 runs in the fourth inning, led by Bryce, Cole, Trey, Canten, Kellan, and Cooper, who each had RBIs in the inning.
Liam got the start on the mound, surrendering five runs on four hits over two innings, and striking out four.
The Knights collected 20 hits on the day; Bryce, Trey, Kellan, Cole, Kobe, Henry, Cooper, and Brooks each racked up multiple hits for the team, and Bryce led them with three hits in four at bats. The team stole 21 bases during the game as eight players stole more than one, with Trey leading the way with three.
